Aid the Silent is a Texas-based nonprofit that helps deaf and hard-of-hearing children and teens receive equal access to opportunity by providing financial assistance to enhance communication methods; gain access to education resources; and to improve their overall health, both mental and physical, that leads to individual growth socially, educationally and spiritually. The 5k Race is built to raise awareness and funds to support the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. Of course with any Aid the Silent event, it is fully deaf and hard-of-hearing accessible with live captioning and interpreters onsite. Proceeds collected through the race go into assisting deaf and hard-of-hearing children/teens receive tools and resources to help them personally succeed. Whether that be through resources such as FM systems or hearing aids, through resources such as speech therapy or learning ASL, or through learning about the Gospel through Deaf Young Life events and camps.

Creative Development

Aid the Silent came to us as a brand new non-profit and had never thrown a fundraising event. The marketing had to start from the ground up from securing a location to finding a running company, to mapping the course, to initial logo design, website, marketing materials, traditional marketing to even canvassing the community. The first year despite the freezing pouring rain, we had over 350 runners show up but word spread and the race has become a well-attended and fun event for Boerne, Texas each May. We just wrapped up our 5th 5k with over 1000 people participating and attending the event for awareness. From t-shirt designs to packet pick up, we have become an extension of this event for the community.
